Customer: Sounds Commercial

Location: Bristol

Requirement:  Sounds Commercial’s warehouse in Bristol contains high value audio visual equipment so it is at risk of being burgled.

Solution: Grade 3 Orisec Intruder alarm system with wireless dual path technology to provide remote monitoring via an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). The intruder alarm system meets the BS EN50131 and PD 6662:2017 intruder alarm standards.

This meant Sounds Commercial was able to opt to have a police response, if required. Our ARC will notify the police in the event of an alarm being triggered giving the management and staff extra peace of mind to know they and their equipment will be protected.

Services: Design and installation of an intruder alarm system ensuring that we met with the specific requirements of Sounds Commercial.

Customer’s View: The engineers were excellent, very tidy and generally nice guys.

Sounds Commercial, established in 1986, is one of the UK’s market leading event production companies and provides an award-winning nationwide audio visual equipment hire service. It is headquartered in Bristol, with three other branches in Derbyshire, Cardiff and Birmingham enabling the firm to operate across the country.

The warehouse in Bristol stocks equipment that is essential for its business and therefore an effective intruder alarm system is vital to provide security for the company. Staff access the warehouse at all hours of the day as part of the hire service and to prepare for events for clients.

Kieran Murphy, Group Operations Director, of Sounds Commerical, said the best thing about the alarm system was that it now operated as a cloud wireless system. He said this allowed staff to have a fob entry rather than code. It also sounds an audio alert when not activated should someone enter the building via opening the front door.

The buying journey was made very easy for us: from the initial call to receiving the quote. We were not over sold and the system is very fit for purpose.”  Kieran Murphy Group Operations Director

As this is a remotely monitored intruder alarm system, and our ARC is able to request a police response when required, it has to be set and unset by the staff via a fob. Kieran said this is something that you need to understand when choosing an intruder alarm system as you can not then set or unset the alarm system via a keypad. He recommended that you install an intruder alarm system where the police are notified quickly if needed.

“We have had a few false alarms where staff have tried to enter using a code as they forgot their fob”, Kieran said.

Meanwhile Kieran was so impressed by the work we did he recommended us to a friend who runs Bluestone Audio, another Bristol-based business which has now had an intruder alarm system installed by us.
